Overview
notone is a note-taking and working environment for music artists and writers who want to write lyrics and capture ideas while working directly with sound. It is designed to protect the creative flow rather than interrupt it, and to bring writing, listening and recording together in one studio-like space.
Challenge
Songwriters often work with several separate tools for lyrics, voice memos and audio files. Ideas come spontaneously but are captured unsystematically, and are hard to find or develop later.
Approach
notone combines text notes, audio recordings and simple audio structuring in one central environment. Song ideas can be captured right away, clearly organised and sorted by criteria such as song part or mood. Visually: modern, round, technical, simple and symmetrical.
User Persona
A musician who regularly writes and produces his own songs. Often works alone and usually captures ideas on the spot. Wants to: capture song ideas quickly and without interruption. Keep lyrics, audio and song structure clearly organised in one place.
Features
Record audio with metronome and monitoring. Set the BPM. Split a song into cards and structure it by song part and mood. Piano and instrumental backing. Dark + light mode. Export and share.
